Garden Maintenance Program Update

Due to overwhelming demand, we are no longer taking applications for the Garden Maintenance Program. All new enquiries that meet the eligibility criteria will be added to a waitlist, with no guarantee that we can offer reimbursement for gardening services.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Aged over 55
  • Low income
  • Have a Health Care Card
  • Don't receive a Home Care or NDIS package
  • Own the home you reside in and have proof of residence

If you meet the above criteria, you can still register your interest in person at a Customer Service Centre or by calling Aged and Community Support on 03 9240 2338.

We will contact successful applicants on the waitlist by 30 April 2022. If you have not been contacted by this date, you have been unsuccessful for funding for this financial year.

The program offers Moreland residents aged over 55 years (or over 50 years for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) the opportunity to access a one-off payment of up to $500 as reimbursement towards garden maintenance. Funding is available until Thursday 30 June 2022.

*Resident already in receipt of funding which provides outdoor maintenance are ineligible for this service.
