Note: Units with 4 or more and common land will not receive an upsize/downsize to any existing individual bins that were connected pre 1st July 2019. Only shared food and garden organics bins will be issued to these sites.

The waste charge is itemised on your annual rates notice

  • It includes the cost of the rubbish, recycling and food and garden organics service.
  • The property is permitted one bin size changeover per calendar year. Any other bin size changeover in that calendar year will incur a one off changeover fee, per bin, of $67.45. This fee/s may be added to the final rates instalment in the 21/22 financial year.
  • The bin(s) remain(s) the property of Moreland City Council, and that the bin(s) must be removed when no longer required.

What happens next?

Requests to change the size of your bin are processed weekly.

Continue to use your waste bin and it will be scheduled the next business day after your weekly collection (scheduled 5am – 4pm).

If you have supplied a mobile number a text message will be sent the day before the change is scheduled.
