Request for a waste review at a multi unit development

I am the owner corporation manager / body corporate manager of the property described above*

Outline the current waste management practices at the development

There are concerns about the collection of bins (eg. Not enough space, missed).*

There are concerns about the storage of bins (eg. No common area, not enough space)*

There are concerns about the capacity of bins (eg overfilled, different capacity requirements of users)*

There are concerns on how each bin is being used by residents (eg. Contamination, responsibility of bringing in and out for collection) *

There are other waste management concerns.*

As part of the review, garbage, recycle and food and garden organics waste will be reviewed.

The outcome and recommendations from the review will be detailed to the Owners Corporation (and or owners) and residents in writing within 4 weeks of receiving the request.

This will detail necessary actions required to change the size of the bins or transition bins to alternate collection at the development.

Below are the fees and charges associated with each bin type and the owners corporation will be advised of the current charge at the development and any changes to the fees and charges will be outlined to address outlined concerns at the development.

(60 litre shared between 2 or 4 properties in a 120 litre or 240 litre bins is not listed. 60 litres shared is not available for residents who are at a higher capacity wishing to downgrade, the price for 60 litres capacity is $92.64).

  • The development is permitted one bin size changeover per calendar year. Any other bin size changeover in that calendar year will incur a one off changeover fee, per bin, of $67.45. This fee/s may be added to the final rates installment in the 21/22 financial year.
  • Additional waste capacity request will be discussed and agreed with the owners corporation and will result in the waste charge at all units being adjusted based on the capacity requirements at the development.
  • Bins remain the property of Moreland City Council and must be returned when no longer required.
