Library services during restrictions

Last updated 13 October 2021

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria, Moreland Library branches are only open for Click & Collect and essential printing.

Our library staff are still here to help you during lockdown. You can still access the eLibrary and you can still borrow books and do essential printing through our popular Click & Collect service.

How to Click & Collect at the Library

Our libraries may be closed but members can still borrow items and access essential printing through our Click & Collect service. See below for instructions on how to access our services.

If you are not a member of the library you can join online.

Borrowing reserved items

  1. Visit the library catalogue and place a reserve on your selected items.
  2. You will receive an email when your items are ready to collect.
  3. Bring your library card or photo ID to the library to collect your items. When at the library, please remember to wear a mask, check in using the QR code and remain 1.5 metres from other people.

Opening times for Click & Collect will vary between libraries. You can check opening times on our info page, and keep up to date on Facebook and Instagram.

Borrowing a Book Bundle

We can select a bundle of 10 books for you to collect based on your personal preferences.

  1. Contact us to chat to our friendly staff about what kind of books you'd like to read.
  2. We will contact you when your personalised bundle is ready to collect.
  3. Bring your library card or photo ID to the library to collect your items. When at the library, please remember to wear a mask, check in using the QR code and remain 1.5 metres from other people.

Essential printing

We are able to print documents that are essential for work, education or medical/legal purposes.

  1. Contact us to discuss your printing needs with our staff.
  2. We will contact you when your printing is ready to collect.
  3. Bring your library card or photo ID to the library to collect your items. When at the library, please remember to wear a mask, check in using the QR code and remain 1.5 metres from other people.

Library programs and events

Our programming team is working hard to keep up with changing restrictions. While some events will be cancelled, others will be able to move to an online delivery. Many of our regular programs are still offered on our Facebook page or Youtube channel.

If you are registered for an event you will receive an email to let you know of any changes.

Returning books

Return chutes are open at all our libraries, however you do not need to return books during restrictions. We no longer have fines for overdue items and you are welcome to hold onto your items until restrictions have eased.
