Storytime

Please note: due to government restrictions around physical distancing, there will be no in-person Storytime sessions until further notice.

Storytime is a fun, interactive event for children aged 3 to 5 years. These sessions include songs, stories and a craft activity.

To make sure we follow COVID-19 safe guidelines, Storytimes will now require bookings for each session. We'll also use things like social distancing and hand sanitiser to make sure everyone stays safe.

Please book for every person attending, including adults. Only one adult per booking is permitted.

Storytime session times

Storytime is held at:

  • Brunswick Library on Thursdays at 10:30am
  • Coburg Library on Fridays at 10:30am
  • Fawkner Library on Fridays at 10:30am
  • Glenroy Library on Mondays at 10:30am

Community language storytimes

Community language storytimes are suitable for preschool children and their families. Enjoy songs, stories and craft activities with your child as they develop their language skills and love of reading.

Moreland City Libraries regularly holds storytimes in languages such as Italian, Greek, Urdu and Spanish. You can find out when we are holding a storytime in your language on our Languages other than English page.

Toddlertime

Please note: due to government restrictions around physical distancing, there will be no in-person Toddlertime sessions until further notice.

Toddlertime is a fun introduction to the storytime experience for children aged 18 to 36 months. Sessions are free and include simple songs, short stories and movement activities.

The Toddlertime wordsheet (PDF 488Kb) can be printed and used at home.

Rhymetime

Please note: due to government restrictions around physical distancing, there will be no in-person Rhymetime sessions until further notice.

Rhymetime is for pre-walking (0 to 18 months) babies and their carers.

Enjoy a fun-filled session based on music and movement as you and your baby share rhymes and action songs.

Activities such as Rhymetime introduce carers to fun ways to support baby’s physical development and literacy.

Please book for every person attending over 12 months of age, including adults. Only one adult per booking permitted. 

Please note: Rhymetime sessions only run during the school terms.
