Lego builders

Lego builders is a LEGO program for school-aged children. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be running LEGO builders until further notice. Please check this page again in future for updates or ask about LEGO builders at your local library.

Curiosity Crew

Due to government restrictions around physical distancing, there will be no Curiosity Crew until further notice. We have some great craft videos on our Moreland City Libraries YouTube channel.

Reading Challenges

BIG Summer Read

BIG Summer Read is a summer reading program aimed at primary school children, but anyone under 18 is welcome to enter.  It encourages children to keep reading over the summer holidays. 

A big congratulations to our 2021/2022 winners who were: 

  • Biana McFeeters who won our Nintendo Switch prize 
  • Warda Mustafa who won our Family Zoo pass prize 

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Premiers’ Reading Challenge is a fun way of encouraging children to read. Premiers Reading Challenge books are easy to find. Just look for the colour coded stickers on the book spine. You can also search for books, by age category, using the library website or on the Education Victoria website.

Short story competition 2022

My happy place

Creators of all ages are invited to enter the 2022 Moreland City Libraries short story competition

Submit an entry written in 500 words or less, recorded or filmed in 3 minutes or less, around the theme My Happy Place.

Entries are open 20 June to 7 August 2022.  Winners announced 19 September 2022.

CBCA Awards

The Children’s Book Council of Australia presents annual awards to books of literary merit, for outstanding contribution to Australian children’s literature. Every year Moreland City Libraries celebrates these books at storytimes.
