Heathens | Film presentation and Q&A

Documentary Film Maker and critic Megan Spencer introduces the award winning Heathens, her notorious 30 minute observational film about fanatical AFL supporters shot over 18 months in and around grounds and homes of suburban Melbourne from 1991-92.

It broke box office records for short film upon theatrical release and quite possibly records for short film piracy thereafter.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A session.

“[Funding bodies are] scared of the types of movies I want to make and the types of people I want to make movies about. They see the ferociousness of Heathens and they run a mile." - Megan Spencer
“…the sound and fury of football barracking… the culture of the outer in all its vitriolic intensity” - Philippa Hawker, The Age
