Decolonising Climate Action


Blak Dot Gallery and the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick, in partnership with ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE 2017, are pleased to present an afternoon of performances, conversations and readings on Decolonising Climate Action.

This event brings together artists and activists to creatively respond to and discuss Indigenous knowledge systems informing decolonised climate action, land management, sustainability, climate justice and climate refugees.


  • Readings from Feedback Loop artist Katie West, Claire Coleman and Shiralee Hood
  • Conversation on Decolonising Climate Action facilitated by Tyson Yunkaporta.
  • With Jacynta Fuamatu from 350Pacific, Flow artist Jen Rae and Allara Pattison from Seed Mob Youth Climate Network
  • Contemporary dance performance from Feedback Loop artist Jahra Rager Wasasala.

The event will be held at neighbouring Blak Dot Gallery, 33 Saxon Street, Brunswick.

This event will be Auslan interpreted.

This event is part of a series of special free public programs throughout the exhibition Flow. The exhibition is part of CLIMARTE's ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE 2017  - a festival of exhibitions and events harnessing the creative power of the Arts to inform, engage and inspire action on climate change.
