Abandoned shopping trolleys
Responsibility for shopping trolleys
Shopping trolleys should not be left on the street, footpath or naturestrip and should be returned to the retailer they belong to.
Abanonded trolleys can be hazardous and can obstruct roads or footpaths or end up in waterways.
Council officers will impound trolleys when outside of the shopping centre precinct and on Council land, and will only be released to the owner once the release fee has been paid.
If you use a shopping trolley, it is your responsibility to ensure the trolley remains in the shopping centre precinct.
