Gaffney Village Shopping Strip, Pascoe Vale - Streetscape improvements
Council has prepared a Draft Concept Design for the streetscape improvements of Gaffney Village Shopping Strip.
Community consultation on the Draft Concept Design is being carried out over four weeks in January and February 2019. Through information sessions and online feedback we will collect community opinions, ideas, considerations and concerns about the proposed design.

Attend a drop-in session
Council Officers will be available along Gaffney Street outside Pascoe Vale Train Station on:
- Saturday 2 February, 10 am - 12 pm (Session 1), and
- Tuesday 5 February, 4 pm - 7 pm (Session 2).

We are developing a design for streetscape improvements to the Gaffney Village Shopping Strip as part of Council's Shopping Strip Renewal Program. The aim is to revitalise the area and improve the pedestrian amenity, walkability and presentation of the shopping strip.
Proposed key improvements include:
- Footpath upgrade including new paving, kerb and channel,
- Landscaping, including new street trees and rain gardens, and
- Upgrade of street furniture as required.
The design phase is occurring in 2018-19 followed by construction in 2020-21.

- Budget: $50,000 (design)
- Design completion: July 2019
- Construction: 2020-21

Feedback received from the community survey has informed the development of the Draft Concept Design.
Community consultation is being undertaken to get feedback on this design.
Tendering and construction
Once the design is finalised, the project will be tendered out and construction will begin.
