Temporary Road Closure -Sumner Street and Peers Street, Brunswick

Under Section 207, Schedule 11 of the Local Government Act 1989 (Act), Council is proposing to block the passage of vehicles other than bicycles by placing and maintaining temporary barriers or other obstructions on the road for the purpose of a genuine traffic diversion experiment in:

  • Sumner Street, Brunswick East, from Noel Street to a point 8 metres further west and,
  • Peers Street, Brunswick East from Nicholson Street to a point 11 metres further east.

Make a submission

Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing by no later than 5 pm on Thursday 23 May 2019.

Submissions quoting 'Sumner St and Peers St Traffic Diversion Experiment' can be submitted:

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of a committee determined by Council at the Moreland Civic Offices, 90 Bell Street, Coburg at a time to be set.

All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to adopt, modify or cancel either or both of the proposed traffic diversion experiments.
