Newman Street, Brunswick - Proposed Road Discontinuance

Council is proposing to discontinue the road enclosed within 8 Newman Street, Brunswick, shown below.

If discontinued, Council proposes to sell the land from the road to the owner of 8 Newman Street, Brunswick by private treaty in accordance with its Rights of Way Associated Policies 2011 (DOC 116Kb) and Rights of Way Strategy (DOC 3Mb).

Make a submission

Submissions on the proposed road discontinuance close at 5 pm on Wednesday 16 January 2019.

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at the Hearing of Submissions Committee to be held at a date and time to be determined by Council in 2019, at Moreland Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street, Coburg.

All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Act.

Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposal must do so in writing quoting reference No.ROW/7/2018:

  • Post your submission to Liz McDonald, Moreland City Council, Locked Bag 10, Moreland, 3058
  • Deliver to the Moreland Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street, Coburg
  • Email Council Property 

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may decide to discontinue and sell the road, part of the road, or not to discontinue the road.

This notice is published pursuant to section 82A (2) of the Local Government Act 1989.
