Moreland and Hume NDIS information sessions
Information sessions for local people with a disability, their families and carers.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) supports people with a permanent and significant disability that affects their ability to take part in everyday activities.
The NDIS will be rolled out in Moreland from March 2018.
The NDIS is being introduced in stages, because it’s a big change and it is important to get it right and make it sustainable. Existing service users and new participants will enter the scheme progressively.
It is expected to take up to 12 months for eligible people with disability to enter the NDIS once roll-out starts in an area. Existing Commonwealth and state-based services and supports will continue until eligible people start their plans with the NDIS.
Information sessions will be running across the Hume and Moreland areas to help people with disability, family members and carers understand the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) processes.
These sessions will:
- explain how the NDIS works
- describe the pathway into the NDIS and the rollout in the Hume and Moreland areas
- provide an opportunity for you to ask questions and have them answered by experienced staff.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will be delivering the sessions in partnership with the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
