New and Emerging Communities' Festival

New and Emerging Communities' Festival

Community led festival showcasing cultural performances from over 30 different communities.

A community led festival, organised in partnership with Bhutanese Community in Australia Inc. and Belle Vue Park Primary School in Glenroy and many local community organisations.

The festival is initiated and led by the youth from the Bhutanese, Karen, and Nepalese community by engaging with other communities.

This year's festival will showcase cultural performances from over 30 different Australian and ethnic communities from across Melbourne including recently-arrived refugee communities, international students, and local Moreland residents that call Northern suburbs of Melbourne home.

The event will be celebrated through songs, cultural dances, workshops and drumming shows, art and craft, sports activities, fun, fashion and cultural food.

Help Himalayan Youth Foundation Inc. is a volunteer based not-for-profit community organisation, established in November 2014 by like-minded youth from Karen (Burma) and Bhutanese Refugee communities and Nepalese Youth living in Victoria to address issues and challenges faced during their settlement in Australia.
