Pentridge Community Garden - opening event

Pentridge Community Garden - opening event

Celebration of a new Community Garden in the grounds of the historic Pentridge Prison.

Come along to see the site and our vision for what the garden will become.

Meet the garden organisers and our local, state and federal MPs.

Become a founding member of the garden if you'd like to get involved from the start.

Put your name down for a personal plot or just participate in communal gardening with other community members.

Activities on the day will include:

  • Compost talks
  • Kids can plant a sunflower seed or a flower seedling
  • come and see them grow over the summer
  • Timber milling talk
  • reusing trees lost to major urban projects for landscaping and gardening.

The event will commence at 1.30 pm but the site will be open from 12 pm to explore and meet the gardeners. Activities will run until 3.30 pm.
