Appointments with the Maternal and Child Health Service

Your first contact with the Maternal and Child Health Service

There are a number of Maternal Child and Health centres located in the Moreland area.

The centre you attend is determined by where you live.

The hospital where you had your baby notifies Moreland City Council of the birth of your baby and provides Council with your contact details. This information is then passed on to a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in your area.

Your allocated Maternal and Child Health Nurse will contact you within a week of your return from hospital to organise a time to visit you at home and to make an appointment for you to visit the Maternal and Child Health centre.

Making an appointment to see a Maternal and Child Health Nurse

Contact the Maternal and Child Health Service if you:

  • have not been contacted by your nurse within a week of coming home
  • are having problems
  • are new to the Moreland area, or
  • would like to make an appointment for a key assessment.

Phone the Maternal and Child Health Service on 9240 1111 and select 2 when prompted or complete our appointment form and we will get back to you.
