Kingsford Smith Ulm Reserve shared path, Glenroy

Project overview

Kingsford Smith Ulm Reserve is located on the western boundary of Moreland and is bounded by Loongana Avenue, Glenroy and the Moonee Ponds Creek.

Currently, an informal pedestrian path (goat track) links Loongana Avenue down to the existing asphalt path next to the Moonee Ponds Creek.

The construction of a shared path to meet DDA accessibility requirements is being undertaken as part of the 2015-16 Capital Works Program.

The new works will comprise a 2.5 metre wide concrete shared path travelling over a distance of 790 metre and covering a drop of 30 metres from the top to the bottom of the reserve. There are sections along the path that will require the construction of retaining walls due to the steep terrain.

The project is currently in the construction phase.
