Background

Council is building a new Community Centre at 7 Prospect Street, Pascoe Vale. It is located adjacent to the Pascoe Vale pool complex and within Rogers Reserve. Download the map of the location of the Community Centre (PDF 326Kb).

The centre will comprise a Maternal and Child Health and Early Years Centre and a Neighbourhood House.

Council proposes to name the building Pascoe Vale Community Centre following a preliminary consultation with user groups that will be using the centre.

In accordance with Council’s Moreland Places Naming Policy, any person can submit a submission to the proposed name ‘Pascoe Vale Community Centre’. 

Objections will only be considered if they can demonstrate that the proposal does not comply with the Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016. This can be viewed on the State Government website at Naming rules for places in Victoria.

In accordance with the Office of Geographic Names, Council must publicly advertise the naming proposal for not less than 30 days.

Make a submission

Submissions should be made in writing and

  • forwarded to Liz McDonald, Moreland City Council, Locked Bag 10, Moreland 3058
  • delivered to the Moreland Civic Centre, 90 Bell Street Coburg, or
  • emailed to Council

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 2 August 2017.

(Please note: the deadline for making a submission has been extended by one week from 26 July, as originally advertised, to 2 August, as the advertisement did not appear in the local newspaper on the booked date).
